Virtual Dubai WoodShow 2020
We all had to get accustomed to the current changes in the world. Dubai WoodShow 2020, which was due to be held in March this year, is not an exception. Since the show was postponed a number of times due to COVID-19, the organisers decided to employ technology and organise the show virtually. This was the first virtual show in the world.
Similarly to a physical one, in a virtual environment the participants each had their own stand and the visitors were able to interact with their current and potential suppliers and attend conferences. Although this is an entirely new concept and its efficiency is yet to be revealed, the stand of the wood processing company UAB Juodeliai was seen by over 400 visitors.
A virtual format of the show allowed safe interaction with customers and also helped boosting business and meet potential clients around the world. This year’s Dubai WoodShow incorporated a large-scale marketing campaign for industry leaders and professionals involving over 70 prospective countries.
Dubai WoodShow 2021 is scheduled to be held on March 8–10th. It will be a combination of virtual and physical experience. The participants will be able to attend the show both physically and virtually (from higher-risk countries). The organisers of the show are attempting to create platforms where business can be conducted in a safe manner and the partners, and participants are able to enjoy the added value.
