UAB Juodeliai ends year 2020 with opening of new packaging elements plant
Preparatory work for a world-class packaging elements plant began in 2018. In September 2019, the construction of the world’s fastest production line for short packaging elements was officially started in Marijampolė Municipality by the symbolic burial of the capsule in November 2020, the first log has been cut.
The technological capacity of the new production facility of the wood processing company UAB Juodeliai is twice as high as that of the three currently operating production facilities of the company. It is expected that the company will manufacture over 500,000 m3 of products in the new facility and will process up to 1 million m3 of round wood.
All processes in the new plant are fully automated and standardised to match production speed and flexibility. The factory features an unrivalled cutting line.
Having implemented the investment project worth 50 million EUR, the company aims to become the second largest manufacturer of pallet elements in Europe.
