16/11/2022 / UAB Juodeliai was nominated and awarded at the forum Vision of the Year 2022
At Vision of the Year 2022, the traditional economic forum of the Marijampolė region, organised by Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, the wood processing company UAB Juodeliai was nominated ‘For Sustainable Development’ and received the award for sustainable implementation of business development solutions.
UAB Juodeliai is the fastest producer of short wooden pallet elements in the world due to its modern production solutions and facilities. Consistent development within the last few years provided a new modern fully automated production facility. Consistent modernisation of the production process made UAB Juodeliai the first company in the Baltic region to use a tomograph, which enables more efficient use of raw wood by using X-rays in the evaluation process.
Development of industrial innovations and production processes based on green technologies are topics which are becoming increasingly relevant and receive more attention. During the event, insights were shared and discussions revolved not only around sustainable development, but also scenarios of the region’s economic development, issues regarding energy security, crisis management, immovable property trends and business funding.
23/09/2022 / UAB Juodeliai installed a tomograph for use in assessment of raw wood
Wood processing company UAB Juodeliai, production unit in Marijampolė, and for the first time in the Baltic States, has been equipped with a tomograph that will allow raw wood to be used even more efficiently. Using the X-rays, each log will be assessed not only on its exterior, but also on its internal structure. This investment of over EUR 3 million is implemented together with a long-standing Italian partner Microtech.
A technology called “CT Log” will help to shorten the production process. Due to its exceptional function to determine the geometric parameters of wood under the bark, the technology will significantly contribute to improving the quality of wood products.
An interesting thing is that “CT Log” can distinguish a type of wood without human intervention, which will help to meet the particularly specific needs of customers.
09/09/2022 / Periodic audit of management systems successfully carried out at UAB Juodeliai
At the end of August 2022, an external maintenance audit of management systems (in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018) was carried out at the wood processing company UAB Juodeliai. The purpose of the audit was to assess the compliance of the integrated management system with the requirements of international quality, environmental and occupational health and safety standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018) and to identify possible areas of improvement of the management system.
The following strengths of the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management system were identified: approach of the management, emphasis of understanding the importance of client needs to all employees, staff competence and continuous improvement of the system. No incompliances were detected during the audit.
